This is a song I wrote for an online friend of mine, who had written a poem for his girlfriend, and I put it to music.
Note to Internet Explorer users: Microsoft has dropped support for the <EMBED> HTML tag, as of I believe IE version 5.5. This tag is used by Netscape, and older versions of IE to include a non-HTML or non-graphic file in a web page. Your browser would then load a plugin, which would in this case play the MIDI file within your browser. I believe this is a direct attempt by Microsoft to promote their ActiveX browser technology, which is now used to do the same thing. There are several large privacy and security concerns with regards to ActiveX, however. For instance, an ActiveX plugin has full access to all files on your computer, and could then return those files to the author of the plugin. This could potentially include financial data files, password databases, or any other sensitive files, and could happen even without the knowledge of the webmaster who uses this ActiveX plugin on their web page. As such, I refuse to use any ActiveX on this website. Unfortunately, due to Microsoft's short-sightedness and "security-as-an-afterthought" mentality, I must now inconvenience my IE using visitors, by making them click an extra link in order to hear the song.
